I bought this as a replacement for a 1965 SKIL Recipro saw that finally gave up the ghost after 40+ years.
My first reaction was - WOW, it's heavy.
I love the ease of blade changing. My antique SKIL required an Allen wrench to change blades.
Two things I miss - The old saw would cut in any of four directions, by loosening and giving
the blade a quarter turn.
The original saw could also be set to cut flush with the base... as in flat on the floor to cut
a clearance in trim molding.
I very much like the new saw's variable speed control system. It's not what I expected, but it seems to work very well.
As you can see, I bought this on impulse - read $$$ - without any research. I was very surprised to see the parent company is Robert Bosch.
First impression is that this is a solid, well-built tool. I need to use it some more and may well want to upgrade my rating.
Works good. Bought this after my craftsman pos broke the shaft. Looks like bad metal. This saw is working great demolishing 2 decks, wood nails screws and all
