These scrapers aren't thick so they require proper technique to work well. They aren't jackhammer chisels. I used the 4" version remove 20 year old thinset. It took some time but the floor was super smooth when finished. Buy a few if you have a lot of square footage to scrape cuz eventually the end will break. (I used a grinder and drill to create another attachment point after it broke.) I probably used it at a 45 degree angle most of the time. YMMV.
We used this to remove a tile back splash. While it does work, it is not as simple and easy as on TV. But it did do the job with a minimum of damage to the back wall.
